Fair Fact Check for RFK Jr. on JFK
The Democratic candidate focuses on top CIA officers, misstates details, and offers well-informed speculation as fact
In recent appearances, Democratic Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has continued to unabashedly express his heterodox views on the assassinations of his uncle John F. Kennedy as well as his own father, Robert F. Kennedy. While he appears well-informed about these violent events in his family history, he nevertheless persists in offering speculation as established fact, often garbling names, places, and dates in the process.
The mainstream media’s fact checking on RFK Jr.’s statement has focused primarily on his comments about vaccine safety, COVID-19, and the Ukraine war, with his comments on JFK’s assassination usually offered as secondary evidence of his belief in “conspiracy theories.”
