How to Grade Trump's Plan for the JFK Files
A baker's dozen of assassination-related documents that we should see soon. And if we don't.....
What will President Donald Trump’s Jan. 22 order on JFK files actually accomplish?
After appearing on a conservative media trifecta (Tucker Carlson, Piers Morgan, and Michael Shellenberger), I am more optimistic about the possibilities of full JFK disclosure as a result of President Trump’s executive order on JFK files (E.O. 14176). All three of my interrogators are stalwarts for the Trump insurgency (which I am not). They believe full JFK disclosure can happen, so I hope they are right.
The administration’s plan to implement E.O. 14176 is due on Trump’s desk by Friday, so we should know soon.
But I’ve dealt a lot with the CIA on JFK, and my instinct is, Don’t count your chickens…
If E.O. 14176 is implemented we should soon see the following documents, which will answer some questions about the causes of JFK’s assassination.
Is there a “smoking gun” somewhere in them? I don’t care for cliches, but I can say JFK Most Wanted documents No. 1, the Joannides file; and No. 2, the Angleton transcript, exude suspicious fumes with explosive potential.
If we don’t see these documents soon, you will know what the CIA wants to hide most about the events of November 1963.
