My memories of that weekend are probably a bit different than most others.
It was a beautiful sunny day in the east. I attended 6th grade in Glenburn, Pa.
I brought to school a cigarette made not from tobacco, but from cabbage or some other kind of plant, to show at "show and tell." A disgruntled classmate saw the cigarette and told the teacher I was sneaking contraband into the school. I explained the reason for the cigarette to the teacher. She believed me. In the early 60's, this called for a confrontation at 2:30 pm.
