The CIA's Favorite JFK Conspiracy Theorists
What you need to know about the dubious 'Castro Done It' theory
In a seemingly authoritative series of posts, A Spy’s Guide to American History seeks to renovate the increasingly unstable official story that President John F. Kennedy was killed by one man alone.
The author, a JFK conspiracy theorist named Bruce Held, portentously announced “The Plot Begins” as he unspooled the CIA’s favorite November 22 fable: The Castro Done it scenario.
Held follows in the footsteps of other writers who seek to refurbish the Warren Commission’s rickety narrative, in which ex-Marine Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK for no apparent reason. The official theory of JFK’s assassination blamed the conveniently dead “lone gunman” but could not find any reason why Oswald would have killed the president. This was one of the Commission’s few findings that was indisputable: Oswald had no discernible motive to take aim at JFK.
