JFK Post-Assassination Film Sells for Nearly $140k
Some of it will be seen in a Clint Hill documentary
An 8mm home movie featuring approximately 10 seconds of never-before-seen footage of President John F. Kennedy’s limousine speeding down a Dallas highway immediately after the president had been fatally shot in Dealey Plaza, sold at auction last month for $137,500.
The winning bidder chooses to remain anonymous, according to Boston-based RR Auction.
Online bidding began the first week of September, with the price starting at $5,000 and reaching approximately $20,000 by the time the final live auction took place on September 28, RR Auction Executive Vice President Bobby Livingston told JFK Facts in an email. Livingston said that two phone bidders ”battled it out” for the film in the last five minutes.
JFK Facts has reported that the film might (or might not) contain evidence relevant to Kennedy’s assassination, particularly the issue of whether there was a bullet hole in the windshield of JFK’s limousine.
