LBJ Did Not Believe the Warren Commission That He Appointed
The former president privately rejected the conclusion of the panel he appointed.
Former President Lyndon B. Johnson told CBS News anchorman Walter Cronkite that he “could not be sure about what motivated Oswald or others that could have been involved.” He made the comments in an interview before his death in January 1973 but asked they not be broadcast. His comments were only made public in 1975.
