Music of 11/22: The Human League on How Quickly It All Changes
The haunting JFK song "Seconds" was the B-side for the British group's breakout hit

The Human League, a groundbreaking British synth-pop group in the 1980s, didn’t become internationally famous until the release of its third full-length album, “Dare.” That 1981 record made the band a staple on the nascent MTV (Music Television) cable channel.
“Dare” reached the top position in the UK charts, and No. 3 in the U.S; it sold millions of copies.
But the album’s success wasn’t instantaneous. It wasn’t until the release of the fourth single, “Don’t You Want Me,” that it really took off.
