My family never believed the Government's story either.
On Sunday 24 November, 1963, my brother and I were awakened by shouting in the living room. I ran out and asked what was going on, and my Mother cried out "Oswald's been shot."
Watching the replay, I can't forget my Grandfather shouting: "They shut him up! They shut him up!
My Grandfather was a Republican who had voted for Kennedy, and while generally happy with the JFK administration, he loathed and despised Lyndon Johnson. When LBJ announced the formation of an investigation into the death of President Kennedy, my Grandfather immediately said it would be a whitewash. He was also suspicious of the later Gulf of Tonkin incident as well, and for the same reason.
