Waking at 7:30 am, President Kennedy went out to the square in front of the Hotel Texas to address thousands of people gathered there to see him. When someone shouted for First Lady Jackie, he pointed up at the window of the suite he shared with his wife.

“Mrs. Kennedy is organizing herself,” he said. “It takes her a little longer, but of course she looks better than we do when she does it.”
