In recent days a photo has been making the cyberspace rounds showing Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. with three distinctly non-Democratic personalities, former Trump National Security Advisor Mike Flynn, anti-vaccine proponent Charlene Bollinger, and Trump-whisperer and longtime political bad boy bon vivant Roger Stone.
One left-leaning website said the photo reveals Kennedy’s true colors as a kind of Trojan horse disruptor of the Democrats, conspiring with Trump supporters to clear the field for Trump in the 2024 presidential race. Indeed, both Alex Jones and former Trump advisor Steve Bannon have praised Kennedy and his run to replace current President Joe Biden.
However, Kennedy has gone out of his way to deny any affiliation with Bannon.
The photograph appears to be genuine. According to the Democratic Underground post, it was taken at a Flynn-sponsored “ReAwaken America Tour” rally in California in July 2022. RFK Jr. has appeared at such rallies in the past, according to the Associated Press.
David Frum, former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, took to Twitter earlier this week to denounce RFK Jr. for an announced appearance at this weekend’s ReAwaken stop at a Trump resort in Miami, where Flynn and Stone are expected to appear along with other Trump luminaries such as Mike Lindell and Sidney Powell.
RFK Jr. took Frum to task for his tweet.
“David. You only needed to call my campaign to confirm that this is not true. Let’s try to make this contest an elevated conversation about issues rather than a lowbrow exchange of scurrilous defamations, name calling and misinformation”
The Miami Herald appended a correction to that effect on the digital version of its article about the rally.
Correction: A previous version of this article inaccurately named some individuals as speakers at the ReAwaken America Tour’s stop this weekend at the Trump National Doral Miami resort. Leila Centner, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Alex Jones were not a part of the event and should not have been mentioned as participants.
Kennedy’s outspoken stances on vaccines, Anthony Fauci, Bill Gates and the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic have certainly landed him far outside the mainstream of Democratic voters.
His heterodox positions, including the causes of his uncle John F. Kennedy’s murder that have earned him the hostility of much of the mainstream media. The announcement that RFK Jr. planned to appear at an upcoming Bitcoin conference in Miami was treated thusly by Fortune Magazine:
“Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the long-shot candidate challenging Joe Biden for the Democratic 2024 nomination, believes the CIA had a role in the assassination of his uncle, JFK. He opposes vaccines on the grounds they’re a medical conspiracy, and he has boosted a theory that Bill Gates is out to control us all with microchips. He’s a crackpot in other words.”
Meanwhile, a 2022 poll showed 50 percent of Americans believe a conspiracy was behind JFK’s death, and a 31 percent plurality of those thought the CIA was responsible.
In the latest 2024 presidential election polling of Democratic voters, President Joe Biden has support of 62 to 67 percent of respondents, while RFK Jr. has from 10 to 19 percent.
RFK JR is trying to build a broad base from the center out. He has appeared on Hannity to reach out to the right. He has positions that both the right and left dont like. There is no crime in trying to appeal to all sides of the political spectrum. It is the kind of political campaign that occurred when his uncle and father were alive. and the anti-vax thing is really overblown.
The pandemic is over. Biden declared victory this month.
Now the 2024 election is nigh. Joe won't be able to hide in his Rehoboth basement this time or campaign before cars in drive-in parking lots.
He's going to have to come out and fight.
The problem is most Americans (even most DEMOCRATS) think 80 year old Joe is in his dotage and can't be relied on to lead for another four years. That's why he hasn't held a presser in the White House all year.
Bobby may not be perfect, but he will appear on stage to debate the dotard. I don't know who will win the Preakness tomorrow, but I will take your money if you insist on betting on a lame horse.
