Her books on Jim Garrison, Lyndon Johnson, George de Mohrenschildt, and the Cuban Revolution are a unique contribution to the history of the Kennedy era
Joan was agreat scholar and researcher. Her work had a profound impact on the truths of the conspiracy to assassinate President John F. Kennedy. May she Rest in Peace.
Thank you for the link. The great Doug Horne certainly had it right about Joan Mellen. I hope you do not mind, if I post your link again. It is that important. RIP Joan Mellen.
It's an incredibly well written review and it's public, so I think it's safe to say he's good with it (maybe it will even encourage some folks to buy his books, which are just next level). I picked up a used copy for $9 with shipping, I am psyched!
I probably read her “A Farewell to Justice” 6 or 7 times.
Her research was astounding; her writing was both fluid and spare, leaving the reader with vivid images of the secretive, tawdry Clay Shaw; the ghostly sighting of Oswald in Clinton and Jackson; the improbably named Juan Valdez, mysterious neighbor Dr. Mary Sherman.
Joan Mellen was a ferocious advocate for the truth. I greatly admired her staunch defense of Jim Garrison. I was there, when she ran into Mr. John McAdams, and put him on full-blast. Jeff, I remember you used to always have links to McAdams "work", as you have always featured dozens of researchers of all stripes. I have heard tales, of the incident you recalled above. It must have been awesome. Yes, Joan was a lioness. She will be missed. RIP Joan Mellen.
Yes, and a meticulous researcher! Glad she took on the attack on the USS Liberty case too, Blood in the Water: How the US and Israel Conspired to Ambush the USS Liberty (December 11, 2018). Would love to know what she thought about the current US/Israel Gaza genocide.
There aren't many female JFKA researchers, and I'd say Joan was at the very pinnacle. Her work was meticulous and incomparable! Rest in Peace, Joan.... :'(
PS: She covered a broad range of subjects over the years. Looking at her long list of books on Amazon, I was pretty surprised to see she even wrote one on former IU Basketball coach, Bobby Knight.

A pretty outstanding review of her book on Jim Garrison's investigation by Doug Horne. Color me intrigued & this is going on the list.

RIP Joan. The research community lost another soldier. Thank you Joan for your service. Always

Thank you! So good to see her and listen to her!
Courtesy of Carter O'Brien, I am posting again, the link Carter provided. Every researcher needs to read what Doug Horne wrote about Joan Mellen's work. I love you Joan. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/review/B005MWN8DW/R23PG1FKJMC3AJ?

Thanks to researchers like Joan Mellen, the real story is coming out. I think it's inevitable now.
