Because of the significance of that date in history, many of my relatives who had vague memories of their own children’s births were able to share with me exactly what they were doing on that day when they heard my mom and dad had brought a new son into the world and a short few hours later receiving the tragic news regarding President Kennedy. The two situations were forever time-stamped in their memories.
In my late 40s, after reading books on the topic, I finally visited the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza. Looking out that window from the “snipers nest” down onto Elm Street in the plaza, the one thing that struck me as odd and completely forever ruled out Oswald as a lone gunman, in my mind, was when he would have decided to pull the trigger in relationship to where the President was physically on that route. He would have had a much higher percentage hitting his intended target prior to or as the motorcade turned left in front of the book depository.
