A key JFK document from the CIA's JFK files is a test for President Biden
One of the most significant JFK assassination documents that still contains substantial redactions in 2022 is a June 1961 memo, written by adviser Arthur Schlesinger to President Kennedy. Addressing the aftermath of the disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba, the memo is entitled, ominously enough for America’s spy service, “Memo to the President: CIA Reorganization.”
Schlesinger’s memo is a test of President Biden’s Oct. 2021 order for federal agencies to disclose “all information in records concerning the assassination, except when the strongest possible reasons counsel otherwise.” It is also a window in what the CIA does not want to disclose about Kennedy’s assassination: its roots in the Bay of Pigs affair.
