True, as is his boss, Allen Dulles. They both knew where all the skeletons were buried. It's remarkable looking back at the events in the 50's and 60's to think that both Presidents, Eisenhower and Truman, warned us about rogue elements of the military and intelligence communities violating protocols at the time, and exceeding their authority.
IMO Congress was given a reason to be captured when JFK was murdered.
My belief is that prior to the hit the Israeli Lobby bought or otherwise influenced vulnerable members of Congress. Just an opinion.
IMO, after the hit they were much more inclined to relinquish their mandate of oversight of CIA. Read Lock K. Johnson's Season of Inquiry revisited. He wrote the original volume published in 1985 the Revisited volume published in 2015 is. pretty much the same as the 85 version and changes are listed in the volume.
J.J. Angleton is mentioned in the book 12 times.
On page six Chapter One Lock refers to the firing of JJA, which most casual observers thought was because of Operation CHAOS, "( In fact Angleton had been dismissed over a professional disagreement regarding the Middle East.)" note 28 - Interview with James Angleton, Washington, DC, 29 July 1975; see Colby and Forbath, Honorable Men, p396

I think I read here Hoover also had them. There has been one on the Mary Ferrell page included in the Noguchi autopsy report. Facial features are blacked out and the area of the head where the surgeons attempted to save him is shaved. Also the entrance wound was obliterated during the surgery and it shows a sewed up area post op.
Jefferson you need to get out more; Larry Hancock is great, but there are others who were there first when it comes to RFK: Lisa Pease and John Hunt have each written brilliantly researched books on the RFK murder, just for a start. Their work is probably the best place to start, plus, just as important, work done years ago by William Turner and Philip Melanson. It's fine if RKF is not an area you have explored extensively, but you owe it to your readers to make them aware of the most important work that has been done.
Agree....Lisa Pease is a real pro when it comes to RFK! Female researchers, IMO, are frequently overlooked or their knowledge downplayed. Kudos to Lisa! There is a series of three video interviews of her on FOX-LA regarding the RFKA. She's also been on "That's Enough Outta You" show on youtube and via podcasts, several times talking about the assassinations, including of Dag Hammarskjöld. Here's the FOX-LA series:
I follow Kerry Kennedy on IG. They do not support the release of the files (especially the autopsy photos, which I only learned about today from Jefferson Morley's post on X).
I think NARA existed during JFK's time since the Warren Commission sealed those records for 75 years. (Apparently, established in 1934). True, the JFK Assassination Records Act did not exist until 1992.
I read from those who saw the autopsy photos that they confirm a fatal gunshot to the back of the head which is contrary to Sirhan shooting from the front.
When this came out re: quick take on the new rfk files, I tried to leave a rather lengthy comment here explaining a Life mag article and some of the photos. It apparently either didn't make the cut at SS or it got lost some how.
The reason I'm writing is to inform you and others that I also left a url for salon mag, however I made a type O and spelled Salon, Salom. Now the url comes up with the page does not exist or some crap like that.
Sirhan Bishara Sirhan was never even close enough to RFK to have fired the shots that killed him - never forget there were over seventy eyewitnesses in the Ambassador Hotel's pantry / kitchen area who placed him no closer than three feet, when the kill shots were fired at point blank range. Etc. etc. etc.
Plus...there were something like 12 or 13 bullet wounds in people & bullet holes in the ceiling, walls/door frame total....but Sirhan's revolver only held 8 rounds! Such a patently obvious conspiracy!
What at first seemed an open and shut case , unlike his brother’s, the RFK assassination is actually the most obvious conspiracy, as proved by the evidence. The very fact that 12/13 bullets were found at the scene says it all and that’s before you look at the fact that Sirhan WASN’T close enough or in the position to fire the shots that hit Kennedy .
Like Jefferson Morley, I am more knowledgeable about Dallas 1963 than L.A. 1968.
However, one question seems to be in Jeff's wheelhouse: what were RFK autopsy photos doing in James Angleton's safe after his demise?
Angleton is the key to the true history of the modern US.

They warned us, but the national security state had already captured the Congress. What does that leave us? Militias?

I’m starting to think Angleton is the one who knew what happened to JFK’s brain.
🧠
I think Angleton knew everything. Too bad he isn't around for waterboarding.

Facial features are blacked out and the area of the head where the surgeons attempted to save him is shaved. Also the autopsy photos were found in Hoover’s desk like some kind of prized memento.

Lisa Pease is one of the very best researchers.
The updated version of Lisa’s book comes out in July .
Interview with Lisa Pease, author of A Lie Too Big To Fail, AFAIK, the definitive work about the RFK assassination:

How could RFK authorize any release. As HHS Secretary he would have no authority. On a family level, he has an older sister and brother
I’m not sure how big this war is between RFK and the rest of the family
Obviously they disagreed on who to endorse but that is long over with
The bigger battle would seem to be his vaccine views. But those have probably been minimized by now
The bulk of the family has chosen to keep a low profile. They have offered their views on RFK. I doubt they are going to say much more
I follow Kerry Kennedy on IG. They do not support the release of the files (especially the autopsy photos, which I only learned about today from Jefferson Morley's post on X).
I appreciate that
I’m assuming the files are “owned” by the government. I doubt the family can stop that
I have read the family has a few boxes but I would be surprised if there was anything about the assassination
They did not have the archives law back then so when Bobby left the AG office he could have taken some from that time
I’ve never thought Jackie had much except thoughts ideas etc. i would be surprised if there was much evidence in there
I suspect the same thing with Eunice. She was not happy with Bobby I would be shocked if she gave him access or legal righty
All that stuff Kathleen and or Joe would have power of attorney on
The pictures might be another story. If the government has them I would guess Joe and/or Kathleen where some of the committee members can see them
Anyway that’s my take. That and $10 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks
It was my understanding that RFK visited JFK’s Oval Office on 11/22/63, before any of the spooks arrived. We’ll never know what he may have removed.
If he did go to JFK's office I don't think he would have found anything on the assassination
I think NARA existed during JFK's time since the Warren Commission sealed those records for 75 years. (Apparently, established in 1934). True, the JFK Assassination Records Act did not exist until 1992.
The act requiring presidential and vice presidential records go to NARA passed in 1978, because of Nixon
Did Nixon's archive law deal with any assassination records?
The Warren Commission itself sealed the files, not NARA
An ironic fact. Ray was arrested in England the day of RFK’s funeral
Where did he get the money to get there and hide for two months
I read from those who saw the autopsy photos that they confirm a fatal gunshot to the back of the head which is contrary to Sirhan shooting from the front.

I just brought is up again on my machine. FYI http://life.com/history/robert-kennedy-assassination-photographs-by-bill-eppridge-june-1968 - I would not use it, what I did was a google search for photes of RFK assassination and the url for the site came as a selection I could make. I would do a google search first I guess. and here is why.
The reason I'm writing is to inform you and others that I also left a url for salon mag, however I made a type O and spelled Salon, Salom. Now the url comes up with the page does not exist or some crap like that.
my search was GHWBush CIA oil platforms radios - today and I got this url https://whowhatwhere.org/politics/governemnt-integrity/cia-bush-sernior-oil-venture. If I were you I might just use the same or similar search terms at above. I'm troubled as to why now I cannot get the Salon page up! It has happened before BTW.
