I called my congressman, Ted Lieu's Washington DC office. I spoke to a very nice person who could only take a message from me asking his office to look into the "Dear Colleague" letter. I advocated for him to sign on to the letter and left my phone number asking for a callback from a staffer who dealt with such letters. We'll see if I get a callback!
I am actually lucky enough that my older brother went through high school with my congressman. I was able to briefly speak to him with a promise to follow up after the election. I believe I shared this with JFK Facts. He won his election and I can't help but feel that I might be in a more unique position than most when it comes to accessibility. In addition to advice already given on JFK Facts, I would appreciate anyone that has advice for someone in my specific position. Meaning, I'm not a stranger constituant getting the "I have to reply to him" phone call and Id like to get the ABSOLUTE most out of the time he gives me. Anything would help!
