Mort Sahl, a political satarist and comedian, wrote jokes for JFK and later suspended his comedy career to work on Jim Garrison's investigation. He would make a joke on any topic and was very self-depricating. He once remarked about a guy who spent his whole life questioning the assassination and the Warren Commission's version of events. The guy dies and meets St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.
St. Peter asks if he has any questions. The guy replies:
"Who really killed Kennedy?"
St. Peter answers:
"Lee Oswald, acting alone, with an Italian rifle."
The guy replies:
"This cover up goes up much higher than I thought!"
