That said, I'm willing to entertain the remote possibility that individual elements of Mossad could have had foreknowledge of the plot and did nothing to stop it. Reason being that Kennedy was doing everything he could to prevent Israel from obtaining a nuclear weapon, and with JFK out of the way, the more friendly Lyndon Johnson would turn a blind eye and let Israel continue with its program. Which in fact, LBJ did indeed do.
In any case, according to former Mossad Officer Victor Ostrovsky, Israel did conduct its own investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy, including building a mock up of Dealey Plaza and attempting to recreate Oswald's alleged feat using Israeli Army snipers. But as you yourself have noted, Israel had a strong motive to take out JFK. And as I'm sure you are also aware, James Angleton, who Jeff has all-but-proven knew exactly who killed JFK and made sure no one else found out, was as close as close can be to Mossad. Last but not least, Jack Ruby, whose real name was Rubenstein, was a life-long member of the Jewish "mafia" which had (and probably still has) many connections to Israel's ruling "class." If he killed Oswald because he was outraged over him killing JFK, I'll eat my umbrella!

However, as you state, if Angleton was involved, then it may have been through him that rogue elements of Mossad could have received word about the plot against JFK. And if these rogue Mossad elements did exist, the best thing they could have done is nothing. It would have been more advantageous for them to simply turn their backs, stop their ears, and allow events to take their course. In this way, there would be no compromising connections and place them above suspicion. Very much in the same way that certain individuals in the US National Security Establishment could have found out as well, and done exactly the same thing.

As for Jack Ruby, his mob involvement is indeed indisputable. And he also had probable CIA connections due to his gun running operations to Cuba.
