I try not too be paranoid, but Nurse Hall died in April, just in time for her not to be found by journalists and researchers. Serendipity can be sinister sometimes.

there is much to unpack about the Landis story. There are some parallels to an earlier account about Sam Kinney that I personally felt was not credible based on interviews with the person who was spreading the story. I have also been in touch with his lawyer. Lots to talk about at tonite's podcast. :)

Interesting that she described a bullet with a pointed tip. Just like the REAL description of the infamous stretcher bullet storyline. And not similar to CE 399.

I’m confused how Posner can mildly entertain that Landis did find the bullet (despite his many observations) and yet wouldn’t that fact destroy the SBT? Maybe I’m missing his cynicism. Interesting to note also his original article quotes Neutron Activation Analysis which I believe has been totally debunked.

This bullet thing is soooo important. More than three shots means more than one shooter means entire investigation needs to be reopened.

I seem to recall the FBI said the bullet was found on JFKs stretcher and the WCR said it was found on Connelly’s stretcher. Or vice versa. When they make up stories consistency is not a requirement.

I dont believe Louck's account. he did not come across as credible to me when i started asking him penetrating questions. and Kinney seemed like a real straight shooter who I could not imagine recklessly handling evidence much less not respecting the chain of command.

I dont see why anyone would think Landis is a disinformation agent. But i will get a better feel when i speak with Jim R next week. Landis' November 30th report had a number of factual errors. he was clearly tramautized by the event so it is quite possible his memory could be unreliable. However, not mentioning the bullet in 1963, 1983 or even later could be simply embarrassment or fear. whatever the reason, his inconsistent statements would make him a bad witness in a legal proceeding which is a shame since he was consistent about the head shot coming from the front.

JM, yesterday I remember thinking how evenhandedly you were handling this issue. I still think that. You are the go-to guy for responsible reporting on this.

What stretchers a bullet was found on is not escaping the point that Landis found it behind in a crevice where Jackie was sitting. That means It was not a bullet that fell out on Connelly's leg who was sitting in the seat in front of JFK. There is much debate about the chain of evidence of the Magic bullet and some said it had a pointy tip as the nurse Hall and others saw. This means more that one extra bullet was found at Parkland. Also before this new story came out I noted in the book The Plot to Kill the President by HSCA G Robert Blakely.

"Agent Paul Landis in a statement he wrote a week after the assassination, the first shot sounded like a report of a high-powered rifle from behind over his right shoulder. He was not certain of the 2nd shot but his reaction... was that the shot came somewhere toward the front, right-hand side of the road."

Landis confirmed to us that his written statement represented his best recollection at the time; that it was not based on anything he heard from other agents or read in the newspapers, and that yes he understood the implications that shots had come from two directions. Still based on the different character of the sounds he was able to distinguish the directions of the shots.

So that was from G Robert Blakey among many witnesses he found who reported shots from the front and back. Many shots missed and extra whole bullets and fragments were found in the limo back seat middle and front seats and fragments found in Connelly and JFK's head. Since when do copper-jacketed bullets explode into countless fragments big and tiny?

Once again Jeff, outstanding work!

The team at Foggy Bottom is planning some serious Damage Control right now.

It will be interesting to see what kind of “Magic” they’re going to introduce going forward.

Ok, so why weren't fingerprints taken on the bullet and does it still exist?
